How to replace wax ring on toilet. Loosen the bolts with a wrench and lift the toilet off. You can either affix the new wax ring to the bottom of the toilet or to the top of the flange. The wax ring seal will be located where the toilet meets the floor.
Tighten the nuts and be careful not to over tighten them. Press firmly all the way around the wax ring but dont deform it. Use your body weight to compress the wax seal and settle the toilet into place.
To replace a toilet wax ring you will first need to remove the toilet. You need to wear a disposable glove to remove the old wax ring of your corner toilet. Remove any debris smooth and dry the surfaces and remove the two bolts from the flange.
Remove the toilet and place it upside down nearby. Replace the nuts on the bolts. Have a trash bag ready and use a scraper to clean the wax off of the flange.
Wear a pair of waterproof cleaning gloves to remove and discard the old wax ring. Do not slide it on. Step 8 Close the toilet lid and sit down.
Tilt up the toilet and push the new wax ring into place. Tilt the toilet up and see if there is any residue from the old ring on the bottom of the toilet. Remove all traces of the wax ring from the floor the drain and the toilet with scraper.
