`Vision Statement 2001-08-20
This document,
hereinafter referred to as the AMOJ Vision Statement, was prepared by several
members of AMOJ under the direction of the President, Jacob Roginsky. _The document is intended to serve
as a statement of principles and goals of the organization.
1.2 Principles
The principles that guide
AMOJ are those which form the foundation for our country’s laws and which are
enumerated in the Constitution of the United States.
1.3__Goals
1.__Due process
2.__Compensation for past denials of
redress of grievances
3.__Extended Statutes of limitations
applied to appointees, employees and lawyers plying the courts so that
malfeasance injurious to any citizen can be adequately punished.
4. __ And, provisions to bring suit
against attorneys, judges and court employees who have abused their
responsibilities and caused harm to citizens
2.0_Objectives
2.1__ Supporters
AMOJ is
dedicated to serving and furthering the interests of:
1.__ All those who have been treated
unfairly by the very legal system designed to preside over the equitable
treatment of its litigants.
2.__ All those who have been
indirectly affected by the denial of redress to the above parties.
3.__ All those who are likely to
suffer from the denial of redress
4.__ Citizens concerned for the
viability of our legal systems.
2.2__Adversaries
AMOJ is
dedicated to correcting abuses of the legal system so that:
1)_ An accounting of the number of suits filed against
corporations is made;
2) _ An accounting of suits filed
against attorneys, judges and court employees is made,
3) _ An accounting of government
officials on the payroll of non-government businesses is made and illegal
activity is punished;
4) _ An accounting of transgressions
of ethics and the law by the media is made.
AMOJ is a force in the legal world that insures that the laws of the land are
applied equally to all parties in the courts regardless of economic and
political considerations. The concept of “judicial immunity” for any
government employee is to be made not valid.
2.3__Organization
To reach
our goals we must build an organization powerful enough in all relevant areas
(press, politics, finances) to be a respected counter force to the
organizations representing the status quo of the present governmental
agencies.
We shall reach our goals by insuring that the relevant laws are appropriate
for the circumstances of modern jurisprudence, and that they are applied to
all citizens without regard to social, financial or political status. No one shall be immune from the civilizing
effects of the laws or our country.
To reach our goals we must attract the attention of our fellow citizens and
persuade them that government abuse is a serious matter, is unconstitutional
and is ultimately detrimental to their rights to life, liberty and the
pursuit of happiness.
We must, as an organization, insure that we are not focused on just one
aspect of the problems that affect our legal rights. Instead, we should act in a manner
appropriate to the fact that the problems we face are comprehensive and
require a multi-faceted approach to solutions.
2.4__Organization Strategies
Since we
rely on the power of the people, our actions should be chosen so as to
encourage the participation of the public. While many abuses are hidden from
the public, the abuses of lawyers, their bar organizations, the courts and
inept judges are excellent targets since they are readily comprehensible by
the majority of the populace.
The state agencies that deal ineffectively with family issues are
targets. Abusive police departments
are acceptable targets. Corrupted
media are valid targets.
These considerations determine the types of organizations that AMOJ would
benefit from by forming cooperating coalitions. The structure of these organizations should conform to the
structure of the local target organizations.
Our federal court organizations are organized as is the federal circuits and
the federal districts. Our state
court organizations should be subdivided, as are the states and counties in
which we do business.
2.5__The Courts as Fulcrum
The key
to effective action to control the abuses of business, government and the
legal system is to bring to bear effective actions against the judiciary to
insure that they responsibly perform their mandated function. But the judiciary has erected barriers to
evade assessment of their performance.
Judges use judicial immunity as a shield.
Their financial and political interests are usually hidden from view,
and so evaluation of their potential bias is hidden from the public.
Elected judges usually hold their positions for along periods of time making
actions against them difficult.
Influencing the Executive and Legislative branches of the state and
federal governments is more feasible by action against them during elections.
The media are vulnerable because:
a) they are a visible entity;
b) they depend on the goodwill of people to buy their product;
c) the success of their product depends on their credibility and fairness.
To be effective in dealing with this diverse and powerful spectrum of
potential targets AMOJ must constantly build and maintain a well-organized,
adequately funded, and highly-motivated organization.
2.6__Strategies
The most
effective strategy is to work to influence legislation and manipulate the
media to achieve our goals.
Successful actions in these areas are likely considering the expected
capabilities and resources of AMOJ.
To employ this strategy AMOJ must build an organization having adequate
financial resources and large numbers of motivated and well-organized members. Then effective pressure can be brought to
bear on legislators and media organizations.
We must attract members by effectively communicating our message. The public responds to people and
organizations that convey the reasons for their concern and their approach to
solutions to problems. Million of
people in America are disgusted with the government's disregard for their
rights and the government’s failure to do the job it is paid to do.
Millions of Americans have been poorly treated by the very courts dedicated
to administering justice and enforcing the law. AMOJ needs to develop effective ways to reach these people and
win them to our cause.
We can do this by contacting people who have already formed organizations to
address these issues. This includes
numerous legal and government reform organizations as well as litigants who
have been badly treated by the legal system.
These efforts must be funded by a combination of strategies. Money from grants can be obtained once an
IRS 501 (c) (3) corporation is formed.
Our public events will expose AMOJ and its mission to the public. This will attract members and
contributions to AMOJ. In addition to
public demonstrations, literature generated by AMOJ will help spread the word
about AMOJ and solicit donations to support its work.
The nature of AMOJ’s mission will naturally attract talented and dedicated
people who share our concern for uncorrupted government and humane courts.
2.7__Threats
AMOJ
will be attacked and ridiculed by those who interests are threatened by
AMOJ. AMOJ’s leaders will also come
under attack from people who oppose its mission. These certainties dictate a high degree of organizational
discipline and the highest quality leadership in order for the organization
to survive these threats.
In order to build an effective organization capable of accomplishing all that
has been outlined above, and to survive the attacks it will endure from its
opponents, the organization, at least in the beginning, must accommodate an
idealistic, simple and discrete form.
3.0_Summary
AMOJ was
formed to address the abuses inherent in our present legal systems. Insufficient avenues exist for citizens to
reasonably have their petitions heard in the courts.
AMOJ proposes to build an organization whose mission is to change legislation
and the operation of our courts so that the courts function as intended by
law and The Constitution of the United States.
Some of the steps considered to meet the goals outlined in this Statement
are:
a) Recruit victims of the legal system
b) Create a 501 (c) (3) to get grants
c) Collect membership fees
d) Accumulate victims contact information,
e) Advertise in the media
f) Stage demonstrations to publicize our mission and attract members,
AMOJ will evolve from a mixture of these elements. Its ultimate influence on the status quo will be a direct
function of the size and financial strength it achieves.
The success of the organization will be a direct function of how effectively
it gets its message to the public and how sympathetic the public is to AMOJ’s
message. This path has been followed
by other organizations that began as humbly as has AMOJ.
